Dr Craig Winter is a Senior Neurosurgeon working at the Brisbane Private Hospital and the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital and is a Senior Lecturer in Surgery at the University of Queensland. Operations are performed at the Brisbane Private Hospital and the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital and a comprehensive service for both private and public adult patients across a wide range of conditions including cerebrovascular, degenerative spine, brain tumours, hydrocephalus, periperal nerve, cranial and spinal trauma is provided.

Originally qualifying from the University of Cambridge (England), Dr Winter went on to surgical training, becoming a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (FRCS Eng). He completed his Neurosurgical Training to be awarded the Intercollegiate Examination in Surgical Neurology in the UK (FRCS SN). Following 2 years as a Neurosurgical Fellow at The Alfred Hospital in Melbourne he also gained the Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS).

Dr Craig Winter is actively involved in the teaching of neurosurgery to Neurosurgical Registrars rotating through the RBWH and has ongoing research projects involving subarachnoid haemorrhage, aneurysms, hypoxic and traumatic brain injury. Having trained in the UK and Australia, Dr Winter has developed particular surgical interests in Cerebrovascular Surgery (Aneurysms and AVMs), Neuro-oncology and Spine (Basic and Complex).

Dr Winter has recently completed a PhD from University of Cambridge and has Adjunct Associate Professor titles at Queensland University of Technology and Griffith University.
